Scope & Objective
To support water commissioning and testing of newly constructed tanks at the NENT Landfill, a significant volume of water was required. Instead of using potable water or transporting water from external sources, surface water collected from the site’s catchment area was treated and beneficially reused.
A systematic treatment process incorporating advanced WetSep 60 technology and disc filtration was implemented to achieve the required water quality for testing purposes.
Outcome:
Location: Northeast New Territories (NENT) Landfill, Hong Kong
Client: Prosper Contractor Limited
Completion Date: 2025/11/21

The wheel washing system is designed for large vehicles with maximum width of 2,800 mm and weight of 30 tons. It utilizes a multi-stage treatment process to wash the wheels and underbody of vehicles. First, a loop sensor will detect a vehicle entering and activate the feed pump to supply fresh water for washing. Powerful nozzles mounted will spray the water to wash off dirt and debris. After 10 seconds, the effluent pump will transfer the wastewater to a WetSep for treatment.

The WetSep wheel washing system is equipped with dosage systems to add appropriate chemicals to adjust the pH and treat the water. The treated effluent will meet stringent requirement before discharge. The compact modular wheel washer is fully automated and controlled by PLC for ease of operation. It incorporates safety features such as handrails and is housed under a shelter for protection against weather. Regular maintenance is required to keep the pumps, valves and other equipment in good working condition.
