RECENT PROJECTS

WTP, Fjellhall Bjerkås , Norway

  • This project is located in Fjellhall, a drill and blast tunneling site in Norway. We delivered a tailored Packaged Wastewater Treatment Plant to manage construction wastewater generated from excavation activities. The packaged plant comprises of influent balancing, WetSep filtration system, carbon dioxide neutralization system for pH adjustment, containerized filter press for sludge dewatering.

  • The system also includes a real-time monitoring and data logging system for influent and effluent flow rates, total suspended solids (TSS), and pH values, ensuring continuous performance tracking and regulatory compliance.

  • All key parameters- including flow, TSS, pH, system status, and alarms-can be remotely monitored and accessed via a secure web interface, providing real-time visibility and control from any location.

Modular STP for Transitional Housing Project, Hong Kong

  • This project involved providing a sewage treatment solution for a transitional housing development located in Kam Tin, Yuen Long, Hong Kong. A packaged sewage treatment plant (STP) was designed to treat an average sewage flow of 533 cubic meters per day from the residential and amenity buildings.

  • The STP incorporated a multi-stage treatment process including screening, chemically enhanced primary treatment using WetSep filtration, biological treatment using anoxic and aerobic tanks, ceramic membrane filtration, UV disinfection, and sludge dewatering using a filter press.

  • The automated plant is capable of operating in both auto and manual modes. It was designed to achieve stringent effluent discharge standards and includes features such as odor control using a deodorization system, a real-time monitoring system, and emergency storage. The compact modular design and containerized equipment components allow for easy installation and operation/maintenance of the plant.

WTP for Phase 1 High Speed 2 Project, UK

  • Balfour Beatty VINCI has used Waste & Environmental Technologies Ltd. to design and supply three package water treatment plants to treat water arising from construction activities for Phase One of the HS2 high speed rail project in the UK. Each plant will be able to treat a maximum of 60 cubic meters of water per hour.

  • The plants will utilize a multi-stage treatment process including a run-down screen for solids removal, a balance tank for flow equalization, a WetSep filtration system for chemical coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation, a carbon dioxide neutralization system for pH adjustment, and a containerized filter press for sludge dewatering. Key water treatment equipment include the WetSep units, carbon dioxide dosing system, filter press with integrated conveyor, and control system housed in a control cabin.

  • The compact modular design allows for easy onsite installation. The plants are designed to produce treated effluent meeting stringent discharge limits of less than 50 mg/L total suspended solids and pH between 6-9. They will be supplied with commissioning and operator training services.

Boiler Washing Wastewater Treatment Plant, Hong Kong

  • For the boiler washing for coal-fired power plant. The project involved designing and installing a packaged 20 m3/h mobile wastewater treatment plant onsite to treat wastewater generated during boiler overhauls.

  • The plant utilized our patented WetSep filtration system employing CEPT to remove 95% suspended solids and heavy metals from the wastewater. Further treatment through activated carbon filtration to reduce residual contaminants to meet stringent discharge standards.

  • The fully automated plant could be operated by the onsite staff with training. The compact, skid-mounted design allowed for easy mobilization and ensured continued treatment during outages. After treatment, the recycled water was stored for reuse, achieving sustainable water management.

Onshore Tunneling WTP for Nuclear Power Station, UK

  • A 120 m3/h mobile wastewater treatment plant was installed to treat large volumes of trade effluent from onshore tunnelling works. Effluent was generated from tunnel boring machine operations and sprayed concrete lining application. Two WetSep units effectively handled the volumes.

  • CO2 replacement of corrosive H2SO4 was implemented for safe pH adjustment. The fully automated plant was designed for easy operation by onsite staff. An integrated filter press and drag-link conveyor system for dewatered sludge. The conveyor transported dewatered sludge cake directly into a skip, simplifying the sludge collection and disposal.

  • The compact modular design of the skid-mounted treatment operation ensured uninterrupted effluent management during peak tunneling periods. The efficient system was vital for treatment the high flows of contaminants from the mechanical excavation and concrete lining works.

Wheel Washing System

Tung Chung, Hong Kong

The wheel washing system is designed for large vehicles with maximum width of 2,800 mm and weight of 30 tons. It utilizes a multi-stage treatment process to wash the wheels and underbody of vehicles. First, a loop sensor will detect a vehicle entering and activate the feed pump to supply fresh water for washing. Powerful nozzles mounted will spray the water to wash off dirt and debris. After 10 seconds, the effluent pump will transfer the wastewater to a WetSep for treatment.

Siu Ho Wan, Hong Kong

The WetSep wheel washing system is equipped with dosage systems to add appropriate chemicals to adjust the pH and treat the water. The treated effluent will meet stringent requirement before discharge. The compact modular wheel washer is fully automated and controlled by PLC for ease of operation. It incorporates safety features such as handrails and is housed under a shelter for protection against weather. Regular maintenance is required to keep the pumps, valves and other equipment in good working condition.
